Do You Wear Jockstraps For Basketball

The best Christmas present ..

in-law deployed around a sofa in a cozy apartment in Val Badia, all around a little girl of 2 ½ years and a mountain of parcels and pacchettoni.

She takes everything in, opened the presents that Father Christmas in the South Tyrolean version did get delivered to the onlookers and their gifts.
green card, red card, note multicolored jackets, dolls, games, books .... a lot of things that end in hugs and kisses after some good Sacchettoni plastic ready to go home the next day.

It's nice to receive gifts at all, mind you, but at the end of this Christmas the "new millennium, "the mind returns to those Christmases of long ago where the spirit of Christmas came from, and lasted only one month. A month of that calendar with the boxes that you opened to find out what, a month with the scent of musk crib that preparations with so much attention, a month of waiting for a day that it was absolutely worth living fully. Why was a day of emotions.
At the end of this month finally arrived that day was made up of sounds, smells and smiles and 3-4 gifts made with passion by those who loved you. One day it was worth at the end and leave you something good inside.

Today, the recurring question is: "can you hear the most Christmas spirit?" And then look for roads the illuminations, which always bring the latest, try two balls in the Christmas shop and some aspects of the radio a song that goes ... but the atmosphere can not find it anymore.

Today my Tyrolean Christmas has become a couch full of stuff on the slopes .... thinking that tomorrow there will be many people in the boxes ... Yay.

And while these thoughts inside me sopisco little Christmas on the sofa has remained an envelope.
I put it I handed it to me 3 weeks before Vincent. Behind it is written the name of my daughter.
I open and I call my daughter. It 's a handwritten letter in English by students of fog that I have adopted her. A few lines, but very clear and sincere, with a written blue pen from a kid who lives in a world light years away from here and is very happy and grateful to be able to study in Nebbi and build a real future. The

read everything, but the call of the games in two years is too strong to be affected ... and goes.

E 'there, in that letter that I finally found a mere glimpse of the atmosphere of Christmas than once. The pleasure of something right that has a true value for someone who deserves it all.
Who would have thought that eventually the right atmosphere gave me a little boy in Uganda. This time the gift Nebbi has done to me!

Colora Henna Creme/ Miami

Greetings from Father Henry!

Dear Friends of African Dream,

I extend my most 'sincere greetings and best wishes for a joyful Christmas and happy New Year.

Christmas! Gia'!... Christmas!
do not know what this word or party inspire in your hearts and thoughts. I no longer remember 'what a Christmas in Italy. My Christmases are full of sunshine and lots of people ... poor.
Just today I celebrated Christmas in a prison of Lusaka. 1,100 prisoners, ragged and malnourished: for them this year and the Christmas' was celebrated today with a plate of rice, a piece of chicken, an apple, a piece of soap and a T-shirt.
fact, I accompanied the Sisters of Mother Teresa in this place of pain and misery to break con loro il pane del dono e dell’amore.

Anno 1998: mattino meraviglioso all’equatore.
When I prepare to gather my things, but the head of Christian approaches me and asks me to sit down and solemnly told me that there will be 'a "Christmas Party"! I sit intrigued: I carry a thermos with tea, a plate with a handful of biscuits. Then from under the table pulled out a plastic bag with a few packets of biscuits. The prisoners are all sitting in silence while it is being distributed to each one ... say ... a biscuit. Everyone tends

both hands with a smile and welcomes the gift of great little ... a biscuit. It is eaten slowly and in silence, as they were celebrating a sacred rite. I can not 'go on with my tea. They were seven or eight biscuits: sbricciolati are in small pieces and repeat the ritual of the distribution: each one will receive 'a crumb ... and 'sharing the love and solidarity' of the poor! End of the Christmas Party!

I would not have forgotten that these two events while celebrating the hope that your Christmas is filled with much joy and much love, and while you exchange gifts, share and hope you can give so much love especially.

A hug, a greeting and a reminder to all of you and your loved ones .
Thank you for your friendship and to share the dream of African Dream.
Love,

Henry P. Colleoni

And Christmas arrives!

And it 'still Christmas .... Another year is coming to an end. And
'time cards and budgets for us to African Dream.

'Our' School continues to grow and we want to give as concisely with your support and your generosity 'we managed to do during 2008.
As you know the school and 'already' operational and now has 130 students .

The existing structure (which you will remember, and 'consists of a block of classrooms, a library, a dormitory, showers and laundry rooms, kitchens and some houses to accommodate teachers who carry out their work in college), and' was enhanced this year the completion of a large laboratory and the construction of a second dormitory that will allow 'to accommodate new students enrolling for next school year.

addition, the return from our trip to Nebbi last May, we realized that we had to redouble our efforts not only to complete the construction of the school, but also try and help some students in the impossibility 'to continue pay their annual fees. Antonella
appealed at last to 'adopt a student' and we collected 32 accessions . A great success thanks to your solidarity '.

The students completed their exams on November 12 and first rumors indicate a good overall result, among the best in the district. The final results will be published before the end of January 2009. The tam tam
of these results makes us good publicity 'and the dean of our School, Father Raphael Okumu, and it' proved optimistic about the number of new students whose parents have expressed their desire to proceed to their registration.

But there 'still plenty to do.
The goal is to initiate and complete the most 'early in the construction of the second and last block of classes, in addition to equip buildings with solar panels impinto lighting. This will allow us' to entertain, feed and educate about 300 students and allow so the school to operate and sustain itself over time.
And finally, we find the funds to fence the school for safety reasons, and to purchase a vehicle to use for frequent trips to the supply in Kampala. It will take approximately 85 to € 90,000 to complete this first project of our Association.

We count on your support for the New Year, and we still believe in the possibility 'to terminate all work as expected by the end of 2009.
Merry Christmas to all, even by all our students . And that 2009 will transform our 'African Dream' in the beautiful reality 'that you all have contributed and achieved.

Thanks, Antonio and Vincenzo

Father Mario and Christmas

Dear Dreamers African, here is a sweet and touching story of one of the many days of the daily life of Angal (Nebbi). We come from
P. Mario, one of our Guardian Angels mission Angal, fathers following the construction of our school Omyer. Thanks P. Mario to give us these Stelline ... Christmas. Antonella

Stelline ... ... ... ... Christmas 2008

The sudden warm after a heavy rainy season, fatigue, other real or bogus reasons, but above all the diligent action of the evil that threatens our gioia cristiana fanno sì che da qualche giorno non mi sento proprio in gran forma né fuori nè dentro…...Succede!

- Emeri de, father (ama anche te, padre) I answered very clearly in his suffering on his face ... ..
I give the forgiveness of God, anoint the forehead and hands praying that the Lord comfort and heal, then I give the Body of Jesus and she answers: Amen.
Perhaps his heart rejoices, but my constant moaning ... ..

* I return to my "red horse", an old Fantic 125, 1998, but singing and happy as a sparrow ... that as a gazelle trotted onto the tarmac, pushing through the dirt trails and jumps up and complain about potholes and stones are not always visible when the grass is still high. The rains have just ended.
Another target is a small Christian community for the celebration Eucharist. The sun has already dropped but the land is still hot, are 5 pm.
I give the sacrament of forgiveness to a dozen people, I am talking about Madonna, her joy of having told her yes' to God who chose her as his mother on earth.
During the pint-sized mass under the trees, a girl shaking and sweating from head to toe for an attack jakajaka (... a kind of epilepsy). I get close, I caress the love and ask Jesus to help and heal.
to communion, to the surprise I see in the small row of Christians Salome, supported by her mother who receives Jesus and said Amen !....

* Then the village chief named Peter, a devout Christian and animist, tells me that his elderly mother she waits in the hut near the communion. I go now while everyone else continues to sing. The song fades as I move away from the place of celebration but a little voice comes to me more and more clear ear
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want;
in fertile pastures ... He makes me lie.
You prepare a feast at your table ...
in your home and make me sleep forever! ....
I find it incredible! Yes, it's Mother Pierina that ... like a queen sitting on the mat outside the hut welcomes the Lord ... singing.
The community and respond decisively and with joy Amen! ... .. despite the weight of its 100-plus years.

* We need to return before dark, almost sudden sunset equatorial me create problems, because I have to push my horse into the water of a stream. But the Lord gives me more ... a star: an encounter with a very nice little girl and I can not help but say goodbye to my little friend, but for which I can not name ...
- "Anyonga! she says with a smile bright. "Nyinga Anyonga" ... = Joy, my name is Joy .. Do not you remember, father, how many times I told you?

E 'joy for me because the Lord lifts me up from sorrow and I say: Come on!

There was so much joy that night in Bethlehem!
The angels sing ... because he was born the Savior for us all!
Merry Christmas with all my heart and Happy New Year
brother, sister, friend!
Thanks also because many times I've thought in prayer and help.
Rwoth shoulders! = The Lord loves you, take heart!
